Start at Largo do Poço in Almádena. We head north, passing the houses of the village. In the heart of the Barrocal, we'll see the diversity of land use and its characteristics as we move away from the coast.

At the end, we can extend the route by another 1.6 kilometres (Passeio das figuras).

NOTE 1: Bring comfortable clothes and shoes for walking, water and a snack.

NOTE 2: There will be a bus from the meeting point (Centro Cultural de Barão de São João) to the starting point of the walk.

How to get there

By car: Arriving in the city of Lagos, at the Municipal Stadium roundabout, head towards Bensafrim. At Portelas exit, take the EM 531 on the left towards Barão de São João, passing through the Monte Judeu site. Go straight ahead towards Barão de S. João, and after entering the village of Barão de São João you should follow the signs that indicate the Mata Nacional. The Cultural Center is located just before the forest entrance on the left.
