Blue is the colour of light: cyanotype workshop
From 11:00 to 14:00
Cyanotype is a printing process that uses sunlight (UV) to create images in a deep blue tone, which contrasts with the white background of the paper. We will try out this technique, which emerged in the 19th century, using natural objects such as leaves and flowers, and others that our imagination might suggest. At the end, each participant will take their prints home.
NOTE: Cyanotype can only be made with sunlight, so this activity is weather dependent. Cyanotype products can stain clothes.
How to get there
By car: Arriving in the city of Lagos, at the Municipal Stadium roundabout, head towards Bensafrim. At Portelas exit, take the EM 531 on the left towards Barão de São João, passing through the Monte Judeu site. Go straight ahead towards Barão de S. João, and after entering the village of Barão de São João you should follow the signs that indicate the Mata Nacional. The Cultural Center is located just before the forest entrance on the left.
