19) The moment of Freedom

I expressed ‘Freedom’ with bright, fresh, clear and friendly colours. For me, the colours of freedom are colourful, show a climate of optimism, joy and diversity and are not limited to black and white.

I chose the carnation as the motif, a symbol of the peaceful revolution 50 years ago in Portugal, the starting point for a free and democratic future. It's a strong symbol born of the Portuguese people, linked to hope for a future in peace and freedom.

In this encounter of colourful carnations, my painting celebrates the moment of freedom.
